The manufacturer says it comes with a handwriting recognition software in hand, so it should do what you want.

I have no idea how accurate recognition engines are or ease of correcting errors.

You can also watch the real TabletPC. WinXP Tablet Edition version have very high recognition rate (mine is about 95%) and Vista versions are even higher. Plus you're mobile you have a complete computer handy against a USB tablet device connected to a fixed.
