What are the steps to become a math teacher? Or a college professor or a high school teacher.
What classes do I need to take? What degrees are required? And what could I expect to become a teacher of all?
Would like comments or other math teachers? Would be very happy. :)
please and thank you
must know that 2 + 2 = 4.
and obtain diplomas and other things .....
You can get a degree in mathematics education. Usually, you will need a Bachelor of Science, but some universities offer a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics education as well. The level you teach junior high and high (usually grades 7-12).
There are always general classes you take to any degree. In addition to those you can expect extensive math classes that explore all areas of mathematics. Most of your classes will be in mathematics. There will also be a large part of classes that teach you how to teach. There will probably be one of the foundations of education class, a course in educational psychology, motivation and classroom management, a field experiment at first, a class of methods, a class of scheduling lessons, and teaching students. Different universities will call these classes different things, but usually they cover all the basics well.
What do you become a teacher? It is more important to you * how * to teach and manage a class that you know the content you teach. All your knowledge of mathematics will not do you any good if you can not keep teenagers managed classes. As long as you have an open mind to learning what works to manage a classroom and what is not, everything will be fine.
