Coloured PencilsHow black with colored pencils?

My teacher said the blackout box flattens a drawing, and is probably a silly question but how do I make a solid black without being able to see other colors show through?

Basically, how do you mix black with colored pencils?

It is difficult to do, because black is black. Visually, you should think about how the eye works where saying a tree in a landscape dark purple, yellow, black eyes. A simple solution is a combination of darker colors, like dark purple and dark blue, which contrasts with the background will give you the result you want. Use the color wheel in combination with the dark colors you choose.

try the black in layers until you get the desired effect ... purple is a good mixer, and blue for a rich black ... you can also ... Just go to your black Sharpie (it's what I do when I want it to pop out)
