Drawing Boards For SaleIs it time to return to the drawing board? - Tips SEO by Gervais Group

So you hired a designer to create a website, even going as far as stretching your budget a bit for the super-cool flash intro. It is beautiful, functional, and it does not generate a dime in sales. What happened? Well, there are multiple ways for a site to be dysfunctional. The following are some issues that may require a trip back to the drawing board:

* The site is more than an online brochure on an e-commerce site - the search engine optimization ( SEO ) is only half the battle. Your site needs search engine on the market as well. Without it, the only way someone will find is that if they see it on your card. It is still a common misconception that "If you build it they will come". With 600 million web sites out there you will market the site to push in at least the top twenty rankings on search engines. Why the twenty first? Traffic on page three is not very different from the traffic on 300 pages.

* Stats show that you have somewhere between three and seven seconds before a visitor clicks on "Back" and bounced on the site. Which clearly shows you what the visitor is seeking, and based on compelling content is the best way to keep visitors on your website and increase the chances of conversion. A free e-book or white paper can enhance the credibility of your site and get visitors to leave their details for future marketing efforts. Conversely, a vague impression of first and / or apathetic content you send your visitor to the next site.

* It is amazing how many sites are designed to sell things do not sell. The absence of a call to action and to facilitate the navigation can discourage even the visitors who were likely to make a purchase.

* Although many non-targeted traffic is much better than no movement at all, it's another sign that the marketing, including keyword optimized, should be reduced. Analysis and testing of keywords can go a long way towards delivering targeted visitors who know what they want and are coming to your site to get it.

* If you have targeted your traffic, but they are still bouncing on your site without buying or leave information, it could be a sign that there are navigation problems or there are problems with your basket. With the prevalence of identity theft, consumers do not want to see your cart are not secure. The best you can hope for in this situation is that they pick up the phone to place an order, but you will inevitably lose sales by making consumers take that extra step. Consider adding a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) which encrypts the information consumer.

These are just some of the dysfunctions that can affect the performance of your site. The good news is they are all fixable by the return to the drawing board.
