The role of adults in early childhood settings

In September 2008, we all have to follow new Foundation Stage Curriculum. And it is no secret that many of us have struggled in the first half a year or two, trying to juggle the comments, forms, planning and research with the normal day to day activities child care and everything goes with our jobs. We looked on the internet, we talked to other nurseries and we attended classes - in short, we suffered a lot for the course only! Ultimately the idea is not as new has appeared! Everything must be centered on the child, it is all about children and their needs.

We also said that if you look closely the new documents is no word "education", but "learning"! Suddenly, education was tied to the structure and the structure of something very bad to have the nursery. This negative connotation stuck to the word "education" as a fly on sticky paper. We even lost a privilege to be called teachers, and have become practitioners. Children's needs are important and we do not discuss this, but we do not take people for granted, which make this learning happen? We're so obsessed with trying to understand what children need us to forget about adults whose dedication makes the difference significant for each child.

Working as a teacher has its own challenges. But it also has its rewards. And we are here to make a difference through our talents and knowledge to make learning fun and interesting so that every child can realize his potential. We have a program to meet new teachers and that we should be more confident in our approach. It may seem that the role of adult education institutions has been reduced and the shadow of this strong emphasis on the needs of children. And no wonder that practitioners "are lost in two books many rules and examples. We are also under grained maps that were created for our understanding. Once you read everything you feel you already know, and because it all came from various documents that we all look forward (such as national standards for birth three questions and Foundation Stage Curriculum).

What is new is the approach. We can do this work because we know how it was done and we know what we need to change for the better. We have the understanding and knowledge how to do it, we just have to give us more confidence after the most we've all been at it for some time and have mountains of experience to manage any change. But no matter how it all changes now or in the future, the concept of basic education will remain the same. There will be kids who need to learn new skills because it is in human nature is what makes us human, and there will be adults who can offer this experience for them, by teaching subtle or other teaching strategies.

A responsible adult with common sense is not a disadvantage for learning. We refuse to be reduced to the status of school furniture and be passive viewers and listeners. We understand better than anyone else the importance for a child to follow his own individual learning plan and we are able to do all the decor revolves around interests and needs of children. But in doing so, we must not forget the role of adults in this great project. It is all about teaching strategies, yes, education. Children will learn if they are taught, and the subtle approach - no education is not new to us. They learn independently or with other children, but only if opportunities to do so. And it is a teaching strategy. They learn through play, but if we organize the resources and give them the time and place to do so. And it is also a teaching strategy.

The role of adults in early years settings is enormous, and do not let anyon.
