What kind of pencils are more environmentally friendly, wood or mechanical? Since wooden pencils are made of wood it is obvious that they use the trees.
But use plastic mechanical pencils.
Which is more environmentally friendly?
I would say that the mechanical system is because you just add the initiative AND if you take care of pencil it will last you a long time
Good God! How many pencils do you use?
A large tree can produce millions of pencils. Therefore, only a handful of trees all producing wooden pencils in the world.
This is a serious example of a fart "in a hurricane" - the average person consumes more likely to 2x4 in one year than pencils - and thus used thousands of times more wood for other purposes.
Do not worry!
Considering the impact trash World pencils are low on the scale of impact. If you use refillable pens, and you keep losing, to be discarded. You are helping to save trees and do not contribute to the non-biodegradable trash. I lose pens all day. pens are worse. Find a more important cause to get excited.
Well, you can reuse the mechanical type by purchasing new leader, but so many people just do not bother and throw away the plastic when its empty. Pencils can deteriorate or be burned, you can also mix the chips in the compost. Wooden pencils are greener because they will not be lost if you try not to (by composting wood chips or throw them in a place where they can be decomposed as I said) and will be used longer than mechanical pencils. Believe me, if you use the same pencil all the time, they last longer.
Also take into consideration that does not use as much wood as you think, because it is filled with lead.
Good question!
