Blind Contour Drawing - How to draw the features of the interior? After using the blind contour drawing method to describe my items, how could I draw the interior elements of the object. For example, I trace the outline of my hand, how could I get the cracks / creases on my palm and fingers?
blind contour, you try to draw without looking at the paper on which you draw. you draw an outline as blind. This is mainly the right brain exercise. the idea is to draw as close as possible to help your eyes to find the object and follows along the pencil on paper. you could ease the pressure of your pencil or use another graphite as if you used the contour HB 2b for use, for more on the outside and inside the gap. Of course, you can always add more details by looking at your hand and pulling in general, although defeating exercise.
Contour drawing is just that. The outline of objects. You really can only try the same method inside the veins and muscles.
The best thing to do is put your pencils down, somewhere in the middle of the paper, but the idea of blind contour, is that you do not watch what you draw. Turn 90 degrees to your paper and look at your hand, take a line and draw continuously from the line, after the intersection you see. If you must remove your pencil on paper, then you have to guess where it should be replaced. A useful trick is to anchor your paper down, either with tape or a clipboard so that it does not move.
You can get specific directions on blind contour of the book "drawing on the right side of the brain" by Betty Edwards. It's really just an exercise to help you make the transition from the left / logical brain to the right / creative side, and it works with anything that has an irregular outline (as crumpled paper or cloth) . Your design will resemble hand, in fact, you're better not to draw the outline of everything, but to concentrate on domestic routes. The idea is the transition, but the blind contour drawings can have a beauty all their own.
