Tesla is an American rock band formed in Sacramento, California, in 1984, and have sold over 16 million albums in the United States from 2008.

Background
Training and mechanical resonance (1984-1988)
The band was formed in 1984 in Sacramento City Kidd and was renamed Tesla during the recording of their debut album, 1986's Mechanical Resonance, on the advice of their manager in this city Kidd was not a big name. The group take their name, certain album and song titles, and some song content from events relating to Nikola Tesla, an inventor and electrical engineer born in the 19th century.
The original planning group consisted of vocalist Jeff Keith, guitarists Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch, bassist Brian Wheat and drummer Troy Luccketta.
Tesla's music is often referred to as heavy metal, but is better described [by whom?] that the hard rock with a bluesy touch. the band's lyrics also rejected the popular themes in heavy metal, especially in the 1980s to the beginning of their careers. Another distinction from their contemporaries was their T-shirt and jeans image, which was in stark contrast to Glam Metal of the era, which were characterized by big hair, leather pants, and flashy makeup. Also in the first days of their career, Tesla toured with David Lee Roth, Def Leppard, Poison and causing incorrectly in the band being categorized as a glam metal. The group felt that labeling. Tesla has always been proud that their music has always been just guitars and drums, with occasional piano from guitarist Hannon and / or wheat and the occasional organ bass Hannon, no synthesizers or anything or to distort their sound. Their albums always proudly proclaimed: "No" Machinery, referring to this fact. 2004 album, Into the Now, seems to include synthesized beats. but actually not. Drummer Troy Luccketta cleverly designed the battery to make it sound like the beating of synthesis, as shown on the live 2008 Cuminatcha DVD section on vehicles of Troy.
Britain Radio Controversy and Psychotic Supper (1989-1993)
It was three years before the band released their second album, The Great Radio Controversy. The album helped to consolidate the group's growing reputation and fan base. The album produced the single "Love Song".
In 1990, Tesla released Five Man Acoustical Jam, a live album with acoustic renditions of hits such as "Cumin 'Atcha Live", "Gettin Better'," Modern Day Cowboy "and" Love Song. "The album is also featured a number of covers including a version of "Signs", aa 1971 hit by the five man electric band.
In 1991 the band released their third studio album Psychotic Supper. The group will consider this their best album according to their official website. In 1998, Reiss Japanese.
