Do laptop chill pads really? If yes, which ones are best? not really. As long as the laptop is on a hard surface like a desk, then you do not really need anyway. If you put it on your lap, you run the risk of blockage of air ducts to the area of cooling, which could make the problem even more heat.
In addition, it adds considerable weight to the computer. Some weight stacks cold more than the computer itself. They also allow much thicker than normal, which can be annoying when typing.
Overall, you can reduce the temperature a few degrees, but it's worth the extra money, weight, noise and inconvenience. I would say no.
