Notebook Vista

Laptop Vista and Office XP. Network. Can be seen in the network. Desktop can view and edit files from the laptop. The notebook can not access files on the desktop.
HELP PLEASE!

Does it get an error when you access a shared folder on the laptop?

I had this problem and spent many hours bent finding a solution
there are many, I tried and nothing worked
I just work around it and do everything from office
save you the hassle
unless your really bored and got a lot of time
