Sample Teacher Interview QuestionsHow teachers respond to larger Interview Questions

As someone who has served on numerous committees interview with the teacher, I can honestly say that I am always surprised at how prospective teachers get the classroom management "question wrong.

The truth is ... how you respond to classroom management "question can be the difference between getting that perfect teaching job or not.

No doubt at some point in your interview with the teacher, you will be asked a question type of classroom management. Such as: "How do you handle classroom management issues?"

This is an extremely important issue.

However, as I said, this is where many potential teachers fail the interview.

Here are some tips ...

First, make sure you clearly express that classroom management is not about rewards and punishments, but it is to keep your students actively involved in all of your lessons ... you are a teacher proactive rather than reactive to a teacher.

Be sure to tell your prospective employer that the best "classroom management plan" is a strong "Education Plan". In other words, you do not rely on elaborate systems of rewards and punishments for address issues of classroom management, but you are much more effective to be proactive.

Then, at this point in your response, it is very effective to explain the main reasons "why" of classroom management issues occur and "how" you plan to address these issues in classroom management.

Just to give you an idea, I might say something like that ...

"Issues of classroom management arise for two main reasons: 1) bored, 2) confusion. Addressing both of these issues starts from the second students enter the classroom. By keeping students actively involved throughout the lesson, students will not get bored. "

Of course, it is imperative that you explain exactly how you will do. You must show your interviewers that you are not the whole theory, but you actually apply what you say to the classroom. Therefore, your response should be as specific as possible with concrete examples of actual lessons.

For example, I would like to explain how I use teaching strategies such as "all-write" and the pair "&" hand to increase class participation from 10% to 100%.

And I would also like to "walk" my potential employer through a real lesson that demonstrates how to pull off a cooperative learning activity, like a jigsaw "cooperative" with no problems of classroom management.

All these activities keep students actively involved and thus reduce boredom and therefore limit the ability of the management issues of class to ask first.

However, this only deals with boredom "issue. Other major issues arise because management class has to do with confusion" student. "Therefore, make sure to explain how important it is for teachers to anticipate and allay any possible confusion about what students are to do.

Let your partner know that you plan to clearly post your daily agenda and objectives to minimize confusion and students that you will certainly discuss both at the beginning of each lesson. (Remember, these things should not be a surprise to your students.) Also, explain how you "check-for-understanding" throughout the lesson by simply asking students to repeat your instructions.

By letting your interviewers know that you understand why classroom management issues arise and how to address these issues before problems arise you will probably have the most important question in the interview teachers.
