My Seagate Momentus 5400.4 250GB SATA 5400rpm 8MB hard drive as a work laptop hard drive for my PS3? ? I just found this lying around and want to know if it will work with my ps3 40gb as a replacement for the 40 GB hard disk that everything is not enough for me. If not, that 250 GB or more are those?
Yes, it looks great but it takes a 2.5 "internal hard drive. This is the most important bit. As long as it is a 2.5" which nicely.
Seagate and Western Digital are the two best brands. Seagate is guarunteed work in the PS3 as the PS3 comes with a Seagate drive in it at first to buy it. So just go for Seagate.

Look at these and just hang out. I think the highest you can go at present is about 500 GB! But they are difficult to lay hands on and in my opinion not worth the money. 80GB is more than enough! I havn't even used half of my 40GB! There are also 120, 160, 250, 320 GB.
Whatever you suggest seems perfect until it is 2.5 ". If it is, just go for it.
Also, be careful when you install your new hard drive. It is actually very simple to do, but you risk damaging your system or yourself if you do not do it properly. If you know what you do and you've seen the tutorials, it should take you 10 minutes or less! Usually less!
PS It sounds like a big hard drive! You can store a hell of a lot about the 250 GB in particular on a PS3!
