Is there a software design for optical science and engineering radio? I need a software design that must explain the optical phenomena and wave propagation. I need to draw antenna towers, buildings, transmission lines. I need to draw optical phenomena as diffraction, reflection etc. Is there any software for this purpose that can help me? Ideas?
Well ... I am an undergraduate student studying electrical engineering in my last semester before graduation. I came across two different software that may be useful for you.
The first is Ansoft HFSS. This is a very expensive software package EM simulation in which you can model any type of structure and apply it to many types of excitation, boundaries and physical properties. You can then analyze the radiation properties of different model structures (eg radiation patterns, impedance matching, bandwidth, impedance, standing-wave ratio, etc..)
This software can be somewhat helpful, but if you have access to a university that has cost, it may be unnecessary.
Another piece of software that I know of is called Optica. This is a package of software that is capable of modeling optical systems. I have not used or seen this software, and I am not aware of its true potential. But he came recommended to me since I work on a laser system for my senior design project. You can learn more about this software by contacting or iCyt Optica Software. An engineering firm in Champaign, IL, USA (website below).
