Interesting pencil drawing Exercises First, let's talk about what makes a good pencil sketching exercise.
Well, I do not know about you but I personally find shading squares and basic shapes like the pencil drawing the most boring exercises in the world. But you can still find them around.
Some tutorials pencil drawing will ask you to shade squares just to get some practice mixing. But I find that extremely boring and ineffective. And I tell myself that there must be a better way to learn pencil drawing.
The problem with shading squares is that squares have no meaning. They are not always life, and they do not represent a living thing. Therefore, these exercises are not really stretch the muscles of the artist.
And anything that is not a challenge will not help anyone can become a world class artist. If you are a beginner, you might consider some alternative exercises.
What you can do is that you can choose one single subject that you want to attract. Do not be too overly ambitious if you are a beginner. Just good will do. I suggest choosing something like a stuffed animal or a plant. These subjects have simple forms and basic shapes and are perfect for drawing exercises.
Then, when you make your design, keep in mind that this is only an exercise. So, your main goal is not to create the perfect design. Instead, you must constantly remind you that since this is an exercise, you should try as much as you can experiment. Be adventurous! This is just an exercise, there is no need to be shy.
Draw all kinds of lines, if you can. Experiment with all shades of pencils. Use various types of drawing paper and observe what happens.
This will keep you busy for hours, and in my opinion, even if the approach is somewhat PDT danger is always much better than any shade square. N square boring for you and me. Geez
