How do I buy books for teaching small children home school? My children are home schooled and since I'm not good at some subjects, I tried calling the publishers of guides for teachers, etc. They would not sell me because I am not a teacher. I tried to look online (used books) and I do not see the books I need.
Can someone please help me?
If you're not good on the material, what makes you think you can teach them, even with the solutions manual? Maybe you should consider sending their children to public school, at least for some classes that you are not qualified to teach.
Contact legal group as a local Homeschool HSLDA and ask them for advice. Generally all you need to do is establish yourself as a director / instructor of a school at home, but publishers have been rife recently. I think the outcry HS reaches a boiling point and they will have to backtrack. If you are a teacher, you are a teacher. Your state recognizes you as such and editors should so.
Or tell them what you think of their policy and take your money elsewhere. Find a source of materials that do sell HS'ers. The link below is a second auction site set up in response to new eBay "teacher editions only" policy. The last link is a site that has some of the so-called "do not sell to individuals' titles.
Befriend a local teacher ... Thus, you can buy these books .... but I am not in favor of it .... because some teachers, like me, use this book to my exams ... Besides the answers exercises in the books are usually sutdent .... teacher's book, so it is limited ...... but good luck to you .....
You can not. These books are for real teachers. If you are not so many subjects, why you are homeschooling, anyway? You should not be allowed to, because even you admit that you are not qualified. Why do you insist on putting your kids through this??? You do not help. Let the professionals do their job. They know their stuff, and they can do. And you must support them. They are your best friend as a parent.
Go to the desired section and an ad on Craigslist, or maybe get the specific names of books and watch them on ebay.
www.craigslist.org and select your location.
You have the right to obtain these books from the public school your children would be assigned to participate if they were not home schooled. Just ask the principal. It may be that the text of the public school is using is so old that it would not order a new one. In this case, you might get a mangy with marks everywhere.
If you want to use different books, such as buying used instead of those who are free to the local public school, it should be easy, the teacher's guide comes with a series of text you are buying.
Vegsource a board Vitae good used as part of their homeschooling forum. Many educators exhibitions or fairs are homeschoolers. I received edition books professor goodwill I use for things in our school at home. Many groups will Homeschool fairs Vitae or sales of books at least once a year. It is used Vitae swap tips there. And there's always eBay, but they did not list the books of the teacher as the teacher's books. They had to stop because the pressure from schools and teachers' organizations. There were children who were buying them and using them for tests and things to copy their homework instead of actually learning the material-So put pressure on eBay to stop allowing them to be listed. But if there are pictures you can see. If you know the number IBSN, you can always ask the seller. Amazon also.
I had a math teacher that used jr high to allow me to use the teacher edition sometimes homewo.
