What is the effectiveness of EDUSAT in service teacher training programe? EDUSAT is the first Indian satellite built exclusively to serve the education sector.
It is mainly intended to meet the demand for an interactive satellite based distance education system for the country. It strongly reflects India's commitment to using space technology for national development, particularly for population development in remote and rural areas. The Virtual Classroom Technology on EDUSAT for Rural Schools (VICTERS) program to operate the spacecraft for training teachers, providing high-speed Net connectivity to the school and implement solutions for learning management.
The end of education consists of a small studio and an earth station uplink. The studio, which takes its source, live or recorded lectures, is linked to the earth station to uplink. The lectures (image and audio signal) are transmitted to the satellite from where they are broadcast to the earth covering a wide geographical area to provide training to teachers and students in schools.
