When you ask a teacher of deaf students sign language for the class, what do I ask? the teacher is not my own teacher, I need extra credit for my class and im-mer interview a teacher of sign language in another e-mail. she is not deaf herself and teaches children. What should I ask?
1. What inspired you to learn ASL?
2. When did you decide to pursure teaching ASL?
3. Have you properly prepare your studies in your pursuit of career and where did you study?
4. What is the hardest part of your position?
5. What is the most rewarding part of your position?
Did she teach ASL.
Did she teach Deaf Sign. (ASL uses but the sentence structure is upside down)
Did she teach deaf students to try to talk (depending on their level of deafness)
Is it do or read lips.
Does it make a mixture of any / all.
Does it relate to the deaf during or after work.
How long has she worked with the deaf community.
Where was his education from the only school or life cycle events.
What are its other major studies / in minors
Can she explain the science classroom, electronic theory, or simply to translate from a book.
What grade does she teach? How long does it teach? Where did she graduate from? Register How did she learn? How long has it been signed?
I would also ask questions about his use of sign in the classroom - she uses ASL or Sim-Com or Signed English? methods (hopefully ASL, but many teachers still use Sim-Com or SEE ... old is not working well. New bilingual methods are better ... but respect whatever his answer is).
You can also ask some general questions about his teaching, but avoid asking for specific information on students.
