Thomas Teacher Training College St. Ibusa: Making a case for the people of Ibusa As I write this article I can only continue to be amazed at what will justify the deliberate and unnecessary political education of our government that led to the reduction of a larger institution that has existed for more 70 years at a single school, an action that shows clearly that suddenly awakened from its slumber and suddenly making decisions not in the best interest of the community often comes gradually to a rape in the hope of the people . Sometimes, our government must also learn that hasty decisions just to move a company on the path of nothingness where there is nothing.
Is it for nothing that one says that history will remember us all for all we have left the mark, even long after we made our way out of this evil world? The rush to want to concentrate large institutions in his hometown of our leaders have become a culture in this country that we have become accustomed, but the reduction of what has existed in other communities to achieve what it should be a concern for us all. People can not be Ibusa the most sophisticated in the world, but surely, people deserve a better life is a nation of high population of educated men and women who helped build this country.
The famous St. Thomas's Teachers Training College, Ibusa was established in 1928 on large tracts of land originally owned by families Ibusa different, there are hostels, Basket Ball, Volley Ball Court staff accommodation, golf Football relatively standard, a mission station among others also in the premises of the institution. The St. Thomas' Teacher's Training College is the oldest institute of higher education in Delta State and one of the oldest in southern Nigeria. The European missionaries responsible for the establishment of an institution of higher education has to educate and civilize the people of this region after the wars they have suffered trauma Ekumeku in people's hands.
Training Teacher's College put the region on the pages of history that all parts of the country have benefited especially at a time when it was difficult to foresee that the missionaries could extend beyond the institutions primary schools to establish an institution of higher education, thereby Ibusa citadels of education. Those trained in the institution may be in all parts of the nation and all the efforts of life, an impact that can still be seen in the production of over a hundred professors and other researchers through the city .
However, the federal government of Nigeria through its educational policies distorted waves on the fate of St. Thomas College of Teacher Education, and by extension the people of the City College of reducing the state. Training Institute of the teacher proudly introduced by European missionaries were made to experience substantial reduction by the government. As if the university teacher training was more relevant in the standard or that the Institute was no longer fit enough for the people, the government reduced the institute into a school by the simpler it Just turn it to high school co-education.
Again, as if the government was not satisfied with their action with prejudice, has taken new measures led to serious drastic reduction of co-educational secondary "All the girls' school called" College federal daughter. "Even if one is not particularly against the gender status of the school, the government's action against the institution is unprecedented and a calculated attempt to deny the community of his valuable institution learning. It is remarkable that once unpleasantly Teacher Training Institute would be reduced to a school for girls.
