When a band teacher jobs in Texas opened in February, are the work of 30 candidates, or the desire to break the contract? I do not think 30 people would be sitting on the work when they can move and take a job elsewhere that can not be completed. I wonder if everyone applies for jobs, and then break the contract if they are hired.
Your statement: "I can not believe 30 people would be sitting on the work when they can move and take another job that can not be completed" is silly at best.
HELLO, have not you been watching the news? There are jobs anywhere else! each state feels the financial crisis. Kansas will have to dispose of 4,500 teachers, if the Council of State through all the cuts they want.
Besides, it's not like someone qualified to teach band can just go to a school and teach science or English. They are qualified to teach music, and it's not only the positions of the music of many open everywhere.
[EDIT]
Ok, ok I get what you say. I did some research on the basic minimum wage and it could have something to do with it. In Texas, the minimum base salary for a teacher credited with 0 years experience was $ 27,320 for the 07-08 school year while the same approach on the salary scale that Louisiana was $ 14.631 for the school year 07-08. Tell me if you had a job and were offered the same type of employment to nearly 13,000 a year more you would not take it. I know I would.
