Many of you may never have heard of Urdu poetry before, much less know what you Urdu poetry is. This article is a humble effort to give you some basic knowledge about Urdu poetry.

A good starting point would be in Urdu. Urdu is an Indo-Aryan is spoken by 250 million people in India, Pakistan and its neighboring South Asian countries. Urdu is the official language of Pakistan and is the main language in some Indian states. But language is not confined to the Indian sub-continent, Britain has one of the greatest Urdu communities in the world today.

Urdu Poetry is a kind of melodic and elegant poetry whose main themes are human feelings, the beauty of nature and the passion of love. A majority of Urdu poetry is written in calligraphy Nasta `liq, a beautiful Persian-Arabic script. Since Urdu poetry is very popular in India where there are many people who can understand Urdu, but are unable to read the script Nasta `LIQ, most of the poems have been translated into Devanagari is used by speakers Hindi. With the advent of globalization, there are even poems in Urdu which were written in Roman Urdu. Roman Urdu Urdu is simply written using the Roman alphabet.

In a typical Mushair, several poets invited sit along a long table in front of the room, just as one might expect with a panel of judges. There is a host who will invite each poet to do its work. The audience joins in, shouting "go" at the end of couplets important.

A poem in Urdu is primarily composed of couplets, or pairs of lines know that the rhyme and the like. A verse is called a "Sher" and many are called couplets "Ashaari. Although Urdu poetry is characterized by several basic ingredients, there are many different forms of Urdu poetry.
