Perhaps most laptops used without the battery? Perhaps most laptops used without the battery?
I intend to keep the laptop on my desk for a while, so I thought removing the battery to save a few cycles and run it by plugging the cord into the outlet. So is it possible removing the battery and let it run just on the power cord. I ask this because I heard Macs are irremovable batteries by the user and must be taken to the store for change. I plan to buy an Asus btw.
U is possible. I have an ASUS G50V one of these. . On his bad **!!!! quantified in 1400 and worth all again!
Yeah, Apple likes to design their products to break and be replaced. Since a battery life is finite, with the removable battery ensures that people will replace their products after Apple that the battery no longer works.
Anyway, to answer your question: Yes, most laptops run without the battery. However, removing the battery really does nothing to increase the life of your battery. What affects the battery is more time, and since time does not stop just because you have removed the battery, it will continue to deteriorate. The amount of charge / discharge will not change anyway.
No.
Peace.
Yes you can. This is what I do too so that my battery is not warmed by the heat generated by the microprocessor and the hard drive.
Guidelines http://www.batteryuniversity.com/parttwo ...
* Batteries with fuel gauge (laptops) should be calibrated by applying a deliberate dumping full once every 30 charges. Running the pack in the equipment does this. If ignored, the fuel gauge will become increasingly less accurate and in some cases, cut off the device prematurely.
* Keep the lithium-ion batteries. Avoid a hot car. For prolonged storage, keep the battery at a charge of 40%.
* Remember to remove the battery from a laptop when running on fixed power. (Some laptop manufacturers are concerned about the accumulation of dust and moisture inside the battery casing.)
This is actually the best recommendation.
Plus the battery is without power cycling, it reduces the mixing of chemicals in the battery itself, which reduces the degradation of the battery itself.
When the battery is worse when you hear moaning, "My battery lasts only 20 minutes as ..." ... If they have not had it for over a year ... it's their own fault.
Typically, a laptop that is constantly on the AC adapter and battery anyway be short of nine months ....
I fully recommend and advise you to follow your instincts on this decision.
