Writing NotebooksArticle Writing - Crack the Creative Nut with Journaling

Think journaling is old fashioned? Think again. Are you a hard time getting started on your article writing? Combine with writers block journaling to awaken your article writing frenzy.

Journaling is a powerful tool for ideas, keeping your writing skills sharp, and for storing ideas and notes for future article parts. To make the most of your newspaper, I offer the following advice to all four writers article, beginning to advanced.

1) Have the right tools. I love to shop for writing notebooks because it is such a variety available today. Looking for a newspaper with flowers and other designs of fantasy? Try Barnes and Noble or Borders bookstores. Wal-Mart stores and office supply functional well sell newspapers cheaper. Make sure it feels good in your hands. Too small and you breeze through the pages too quickly. Too large and you will not take it with you, for fear someone might snicker.

And do not forget your writing instrument. Your options are either rollerball pen or gel. I use a Uniball pen 0.38. I could not find them in OfficeMax. I love art, but they tend to run out of ink faster than other feathers. Use what you like best. If you do not like to smear the ink, or are clumsy like me and get gel all over you hands, shirt and pants then stick with a ballpoint pen. Or, better yet, get a pencil. I do not use pencils because I tend to delete too.

2) Make it a habit. It goes without saying. If you want to be successful in logging, you must log. Choose a time and place where you can write every day. Then, just do it. Stay away from your computer to not be distracted by current affairs.

3) Fire your inner critic. I used to think that all writing should be critiqued, reviewed and revised. Once I let go of my inner critic, I started to enjoy journaling. Several times, thoughts pen, I would have been lost random otherwise. Logging should be a source of inspiration, not a chore. For those of you who are perfectionists, this step will be more difficult to control. Do not write on your computer. When you see the marks for automatic brightness of your screen, you'll be tempted to make corrections. It is tempting to use less paper and a pen.

4) Use your journal Food section. Can not think of anything to write? Scroll journal entries older. I guarantee you it will only take a few minutes to find an idea or inspiration to begin. I purposely review of journal entries to get ideas for new articles.

Journaling is an exercise to help you let go and break block any writer. The important point to remember is that there is no wrong way to journal. Try newspaper at least once a day. Do not think you have something about paper? Write a daily to do list. Sometimes you get something on paper to make your mind work. You never know until you try. Have fun, enjoy yourself, and get writing!
